An architecture easily accumulates reasons to keep going.

Every abstraction has a history. Every procedure answers an incident. Every layer has already cost something.

Over time, that investment can become its own justification.

I return to the capability we need: who needs it, what should it make possible, and what structure is sufficient today?

Removing something requires understanding what still depends on it. Then accepting that a useful idea may have finished its work.

I want to keep what I learned and let go of the structure that produced it.

Simplicity requires that freedom too.
